Wellbeing Hub NEW

Counselling

We offer a service for everyone who is employed by NHS Grampian.

It is not available to students (including student nurses, student midwives, undergraduate medical students, psychology trainees etc.) who are eligible for support through their institutional organisations.  Staff working in GP and Dentist surgeries that are not directly employed by NHS Grampian are not eligible.

What For? How can you access it? When?
6 – 8 sessions of Counselling are available to individuals who need a safe confidential space to gain a clearer perspective on stressful circumstances experienced at work or at home, that are now impacting work functioning.  Exploratory sessions aim to promote reflection and increase resilience, helping individuals move towards desired change or acceptance.

Sessions are offered via telephone, video (Near Me/Attend Anywhere) or face-to-face at a limited number of locations. Please allow around 50 minutes for the appointment.
By completing our Wellbeing Hub self-referral form and making yourself available for a call within 7 days of your referral.

Please let us know as much information as possible on your current experiences and the impact of these on your work in the self-referral.  This will help us consider whether our work-focused service, or another, may best meet your needs.
Counselling will be offered only if we consider that our service best meets your current needs.  Please be aware that one outcome of our triage call may be that we recommend you try an alternative service at this time.

If we agree that our service does best meet your needs, please be aware that it will likely take several months before we are able to offer you a course of therapy. You will be signposted to suitable resources that you can access while waiting.
