External Activity > Robert Gordon University Healthcare Students > Attendance Management / Case Referrals

GO Health Services aim to support both students and academic staff in maintaining satisfactory attendance. The University may request an occupational health consultation to ascertain the student’s fitness for placement and academic work (e.g. following a period of long term or frequent short term absence).

The Referral process offers the proactive implementation of Occupational Health services by providing advice and sign posting to relevant services.

Please ensure that the referral has been discussed with the student prior to the Personal Tutor completing the online Referral form.

If a Referral is required the Personal Tutor should complete the online Management Referral form . A copy will be sent to the referring person, the student and to GO Health Services. Once GO Health Services have received the referral an Occupational Health Adviser will arrange an appointment and the student will be advised via their RGU email address. The assessment may be arranged as a telephone or face to face appointment.

The Occupational Health clinician will agree an action plan with the student and send a report to the referring tutor and to the student via their RGU email. If the student is within the School of Nursing and Midwifery and has consented a report will also be sent to the Inclusion Champions.
